Wedding
Ring
What would an engagement or a wedding be without the ring? A ring is the perfect symbol of the love two people share for one
another. With an engagement ring, two people are betrothed to each other and with the wedding ring, two people are wed. A wedding
ring or wedding band consists of precious metal ring, in some countries worn on the base of the left ring finger – the fourth finger
(counting from the thumb) of the left hand. In most other parts of the world, it is worn on the right ring
finger. Such a ring symbolizes marriage: a spouse wears it to indicate a marital commitment to fidelity. The bride's engagement and wedding
ring are usually worn on the third finger on the left hand. There is no recorded evidence to explain the origin of this tradition, but there
are two strongly held views on the origin.
